Abstract

Poisoning is assuming alarming proportions all over world as far as mortality & morbidity is concerned. Poisoning deaths are more common nowadays in developing countries. Pesticides are used in abundance now and have changed the pattern of poisonings. Use of pesticides in agriculture has significantly increased during past century. Data of poisonings were collected from records of B.K. Hospital, Faridabad (HR) for the period 1991-95. Those poisoning cases whose files were not traceable, were excluded from the study. 635 cases if poisoning were brought in casualty of B.K. Hospital during this period. However, only 189 case files were available in the records of B.K. Hospital which were analyzed.
