Abstract

Terrorist attacks forced the temporary closure of the 0.9 million bpd Basra oil-export terminal in April 2004. Suicide bombers approached on the facility in three speedboats and then blew up their craft, but failed to cause significant damage to vessels or loading infrastructure.
