Abstract

In this paper we summarize the data about beds and day-places in German clinics of psychiatry and psychotherapy in July 2003. Up to July 2003 in Germany, we had 56,363 beds in 422 clinics for psychiatry and psychotherapy, besides 8978 places in 358 day-clinics and 6912 beds in 65 clinics for forensic psychiatry. The number of beds and places in day-clinics and in forensic psychiatry increased since 1999, the total number of beds in clinical psychiatry in Germany decreased from about 65,925 to 56,363 beds (minus 15 per cent). © Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart.
