Abstract

Reported is of an emergency case of a patient who has strangulated himself with a belt. The patient was an alcoholic since 8 years and he was very aggressive to his companion. In the past he had made a couple of attempted suicides. The companion was reacting with an acute stress disorder to the sudden death, reported suicide intentions, had to be treated by the emergency physician and hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital.
