Abstract

In this paper, we discuss features associated with suicide risk in patients with bipolar affective disorders. In our comments based on own clinical experience, case studies and literature, we suggest that risk of suicide is highest in depressive states, then in mixed states, especially when confounded with feelings of guilt and shame about things which happened during manic states.
