Abstract

Very few lamotrigine acute poisonings have been reported. None of them report a correlation between the clinic and toxicokinetic features. We report a case of acute self-poisoning by lamotrigine and alprazolam. The main clinical symptoms were neurological and gastrointestinal. The peak plasma concentration was 25.3 mcg/ml, the elimination half-life was 26 hours, suggesting linear kinetics (order 1). The patient had a favorable course after supportive treatment alone.
