Abstract

Although pathological gambling often is characterized by significant financial losses, legal problems, employment difficulties, familial discord, and psychiatric distress, including suicide, little consensus exists on how to best treat pathological gamblers. This article examines psychosocial treatments for this disorder and identifies areas for future research.
