Abstract

David C. Korten argues that September 11th shows that the time has come for humanity to leave behind the self-limitingand ultimately self-destructive institutions of Empire and live intobeing a new Era of Community. In this new era he envisions life asthe defining cultural value, cooperation and partnership as society'sorganizing principles, and networking as the predominant organizational form. © 2002 The Society for International Development.
