Abstract

Attempted suicides by ingestion of cyanide salts account for a small percentage of all cyanide intoxications. We report the case of a 51-year-old female who ingested a significant amount of cyanide salts at her workplace. The clinical course was complicated by seizures and immediate post-ictal coma. The patient however improved after treatment with hydroxocobalamine. Medical transport and immediate evaluation after treatment with antidote in an intensive care unit are indispensable.
