Abstract

The letter discusses about applying the concept of evolution to literary studies. According the author, the field of literary criticism is in the early stages of extinction. He is apprehensive about the explanation of the term suicide in Darwinian terms. In his views, literary analysis cannot be a symbol of theory, whether deconstruction, new criticism, psychoanalysis or Darwinism.
