Abstract

In all Occidental countries there is an important incidence of suicide, particularly among adolescents, in the last years. International data report that incidence of suicide among adolescents between 15 and 18 years is 3%; adolescents who in consequence of attempted suicide request medical help are 0.5%. All literature is in accordance about the importance of an adequate psychotherapy of youth that have experienced this act for a good prevention of suicide/attempted suicide. If 0.5% of adolescents is reached through consultation or psychotherapy, it's necessary to carry out projects of primary prevention to catch up a major group. The Author presents a clinical case as an example of this situation and of this purpose.
