Abstract

This paper presents the statistical evaluation of alcoholic poisoning recorded by the Poison Center of Sao Paulo in a 4-year period from 1993 through 1997. It includes patients between 0 and 20 years of age. The causaNty assessment showed intentional and nonintentional cases. The circumstances of poisoning are discussed and ranked as abuse, suicide attempt, violence or occasional accident.
