Abstract

Live and work of the famous German poet Heinrich von Kleist are described and viewed under psychopathographic and psychodynamic perspectives. Genious that he was, he, at the same time, suffered under severe neurotic and destructive suicidal tendencies which ended in a suicide pact. The author leaves it open if and how psychotherapeutic interventions, if applied, might have allowed for a more constructive development.
