Abstract

The Author emphasises the dramatic and impredictable character of adolescents' suicide and its high risk. He starts from his personal experience, from the pain to overcome the suicide of one of his patients and of its impredictability. He considers the literature's data and, among these, the fact that suicide in Netherlands has doubled in the last years, that researchers studies show that often suicidal patients have a diagnosis of depression associated with conduct disorders, and that one of the shield elements from suicidal attempt is an earlier developmental position in which the object of aggression is located outside of the subject. Finally there are some considerations about how ought to be a therapeutic community and the importance that the work of its members could be integrated at its best.
