Abstract

The physician-assisted suicide - The Oregon Death With Dignity Act - was implemented in October 1997 and in March 1998 physicians helped to first victims of this law. The reasons, why it is not possible to follow it are discussed and ten Dr. Edmund Pellegrino's arguments are the matter of special interest. It is pointed out that education in good palliative and hospice care is the best fight against this trend.
