Abstract

Existing empirically prepared methods for assessing the risk of suicidality are still uncertain. Eighty percent of suicides had never become conspicuous by parasuicide or psychiatric disorders. The present paper describes two methods for estimating the risk of potential suicide following attempted suicide. These have been derived from studies on prediction and typology using multivariate statistical methods and catamnestic review. They may prove helpful in practice.
