Abstract

We report a spectacular case of sotalol and amitriptylin overdose, responsible for major and prolonged polymorph ventricular arrhythmias (essentially ventricular fibrillation and twisting points). Both molecules may have the same effects on cardiac rhythm and ventricular conduction (amplification of membrane stabilizing effects). Sodium bicarbonate is the first therapeutic for cardiac arrhythmias caused by cyclic antidepressant. Antidotes of beta-blocker include glucagon, isoprenalin or ephedrin, sytolic entrainment, magnesium.
