Abstract

The paper reviews contemporary knowledge of the above mentioned problems, in which the Czech medical literature so far was interested only little, and it is focused mainly on epidemiology, developmental aspects, diagnostics, clinical picture and suicide problems. Special emphasis is laid on biological correlates of depressive disorders in children and adolescents.
