Abstract

In contemporary debate concerning the end of life, euthanasia is an essential proposition, on a par with palliative care and assisted suicide. By analysing the values euthanasia embodies - autonomy, freedom and dignity - this paper endeavours to shed light on its paradoxes and limitations and to examine the reasons behind its popularity. © L'Esprit du temps.
