Abstract

The issue of school suicide emerges at the fieldwork as one of many types of violence experienced by school community members. However, it deals with a counter-intuitive proposal for both educational theory and school violence studies. In order to delimit it for social research purposes a specific four-stage methodological mechanism of documentary evidence is proposed; Bibliographic search planning in data bases, bibliographic information gathering, concept map creation and analysis of concept maps. After applying this device, it has been validated that; if the information search had been restricted to key words (suicide/school), the results would have been scarce, since this topic has rarely been researched. If the topic is concentrated on the interface concept (that relates suicide/school) the topic will be reduced to suicide due to school harassment. If key words are added to interface, the topic will be alternatively bounded. If the research article delimitation is not denatured, this will be constructed in accordance with classification logic of hegemonic knowledge. If this proposed device is used, this topic will be conceived as a socio-historical multidimensional and social predicament appealing to explanatory pluralism.
