Abstract

A well-structured text data base search was carried out for the well defined goal of relevant image processing methods for applications to road surface and road traffic, through multiple text data base services. The results of this selective review of materials obtained from on-line text data bases were presented and discussed, and compared to the ordinary book resources found to be of continuing practical value in entering this field. The overlaps - and the lack of them - between data bases and other more conventinal sources of key references were considered, and the conclusion is drawn that direct interpersonal search methods are still crucial in multidisciplinary fields such as this.
