Abstract

In order to review design standards based on the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials acceleration and deceleration curves, measurement of the in-service accelerations and decelerations of modern vehicles is required. The paper demonstrates the feasibility of a radar speedmeter technique to make such measurements. Recommendations as to its application are made.
