Abstract

This paper presents a review of milestone events over the last twenty years in the area of road freight transport in Australia. This mainly comprises a summary of key enquiries or studies. This is followed by a discussion of some of the important ways in which road freight transport has changed. Finally, some current or emerging issues are discussed, and the role which research has played or can play in resolving them is examined.
