Abstract

Eleven safety audits of existing roads were undertaken throughout New Zealand in 1997 and 1998. The safety audits, commissioned by Transfund New Zealand Review and Audit Division, covered a wide range of road types and hierarchies from, multi-lane state highways to unsealed local roads. This paper summarises the main findings noted during the 1997/98 safety audits.
