Abstract

In order to effectively intervene in campus violence and maintain the harmony and stability of colleges and universities, this paper explored the relationship between violence and four factors respectively: individual, family, school and society. First, basic dimensions of the four influencing factors of individual, school, family and society were defined, and an assumption of the relationship between influencing factors and violent behaviors was proposed. Secondly, students from a college in Beijing were selected by a cluster sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey. Then, SEM was applied to analyze the questionnaire data to test the above assumption.

RESULTS show that individual factors have a direct and positive impact on violence, that family and social factors have a positive and indirect impact on violence through individual factors and that school factors have both direct and indirect effects on campus violence, which should be the focus of intervention. © 2019 China Safety Science Journal.
