Abstract

In order to prevent explosion of mixed gas and C2H2 in coal mines, influence of C2H2 concentration on explosion limit of gas explosion were studied by using chemical reaction model GRI - Mech3.0 in CHEMKIN - Pro software. Then, changes of pressure, temperature, free radicals and their susceptibility during explosion process of mixed gas and main products content after explosion were analyzed in detail. The results show that as C2H2 concentration increases, lower limit of explosion decreases, upper explosion limit rises and maximum pressure as well as maximum temperature increase. Meanwhile, consumption of O2 and CO concentration in products increases while that of other products such as CO2 , H2O, and NOx decreases. Moreover, C2H2 accelerates consumption of O and OH in free radicals, resulting in a significant decrease in content of O and OH free radicals. And sensitivity analysis indicates that addition of C2H2causes reaction to promote consumption of major free radicals to change from R158 to R53, and that to promote their formation to change from R155 to R38. © 2020 China Safety Science Journal.
