Abstract

In order to reduce economic loss caused by system failure and uncoordinated supply of spare parts,an optimization model of periodic inspection and spare parts ordering under two fault modes is proposed based on delay time theory. Different corresponding maintenance strategy was adopted according to different states of system during inspection, and it was updated immediately or delayed in accordance with storage state of spare parts. Finally, based on renewal reward theory,an optimal model was established with expected cost in unit time as objective function, and optimal inspection cycle and ordering time were determined. The results show that when system life complies with Weibull distribution, order point should be near the first inspection time minus lead time after inspection cycle is determined,so as to avoid high cost due to system failure. Inspection cycle and order point increase with growth of inspection cost, while minimum unit cost decreases monotonically with increase of scale parameters. © 2020 China Safety Science Journal.
