Abstract

To solve the problem that the friction between the shearer picks and the steel bolts in the gaseous mine production is easy to generate sparks, the paper was aimed at replacing steel bolts with FRP bolts to support the panel side. The mechanical properties of FRP bolts with different anchoring modes were studied. A simulation model was built for bolts anchorage force test based on thick walled cylinder theory, and laboratory and field tests were carried out. The results show that the 27 mm diameter FRP bolts rod tensile strength is 278. 31 kN and the shear strength is 147. 94 kN, when it is fully anchored, the shear strength of FRP bolts is 282. 25 kN, which can meet the basic requirements of the panel side of roadway support, that the values of pulling force of FRP bolts in laboratory and field tests are 63% and 31% more than those of rebar bolts respectively, and the energy consumption of FRP bolts is 24% higher than that of the rebar bolts, and that when panel side is supported with FRP bolts, even the bolts spacing and row spacing are increased, the supporting effect is still better than that of the steel bolts support scheme. © 2019 China Safety Science Journal.
