Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the accident data collected from NHAI and identify contributing factors related to accidents. The study also aims to investigate and prioritize the high crash locations on selected study area. The study area selected for the research is 100 km section of NH-65. NH-65 (Pune-Solapur National Highway) under Solapur district in Maharashtra state in country India is a four-lane road which is maintained by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). It has been noted that a large number of accidents have occurred on this roadway in recent years. Hence, the results of the study would help practitioners and decision makers to improve the road safety on selected road section
