Abstract

We respond to the Devilly et al. (2023) comment about our article (Bushman & Anderson, 2021). Specifically, we point out 20 false claims they make about our article and explain why these claims are false.

Impact Statement
Bushman and Anderson (2021) proposed several solutions to the puzzle of why some studies find nonsignificant violent media effects, even though most studies find significant effects. This article corrects several false claims in the Devilly et al. (2023) comment about the Bushman and Anderson article, corrects misinformation about media violence effects and research, and provides suggestions for future media violence research.
