Abstract

Thirty soldiers who had made serious threats at suicide or who had actually attempted self-destruction, were studied during the Summer of 1945 in the principal Army psychiatric center in Europe, located in Paris. One of these soldiers succeeded in hanging himself, after escaping from the hospital grounds.
