Abstract

On Monday last an inquest was held at the County Lunatic Asylum, Colney Hatch, on the body of Martha Draper, one of the patients, she having been accidentally drowned in consequence of the bursting of a water bed.

[SafetyLit note: This likely refers to the "hydrostatic floating bed" developed in the early 19 century by Neil Arnot, MD. It was intended for long-term invalids as a means of reducing pressure ulcers (bed sores).]
