Abstract

Small accidents are common in places closely related to public life. This study focused on the neighborhood, i.e., the space where our daily lives take place, and sought to identify the characteristics of the neighborhood affecting the occurrence of safety accidents. This study targeted Busan. Busan is highly likely to be vulnerable to safety concerns, as it has the highest proportion and increase rate of the elderly among large cities in Korea. Accordingly, this study classified neighborhoods with similar characteristics and observed the differences in safety accidents by place. Then, the causes of housing safety accidents (the most common type of safety accident) were identified from the neighborhood characteristics. The analysis demonstrated differences in the frequency of safety accidents by place according to the neighborhood type. In most neighborhoods, safety accidents in houses were the most common. In addition, the residents under the age of 14 and over 65, single-person households, housing types, and housing deterioration in a neighborhood were identified as statistically valid factors affecting the occurrence of housing safety accidents.

안전사고들이 우리의 삶과 긴밀하게 연결되어 있는 공간에서 흔하게 발생하고 있다. 이 연구는 이러한 우리의 일상이 이루어지는 공간인 근린에 초점을 맞추며, 안전사고 발생에 영향을 미치는 근린의 특성을 파악하고자 한다. 우리나라 대도시 중 노인 비율과 증가율이 가장 높아 안전에 취약할 가능성이 높은 부산을 대상으로 유사한 특성을 가진 근린을 분류하여 장소별 안전사고 발생 차이를 살펴보고, 가장 많이 발생하는 안전사고인 주택 안전사고의 원인을 근린 특성에서 찾고자 하였다. 분석의 결과, 부산의 경우 근린유형에 따라 장소별 안전사고 발생빈도에 차이가 있었으나 주택에서의 안전사고는 대부분의 근린에서 가장 많이 발생하였다. 또한 근린에 거주하는 14세 이하⋅65세 이상 인구, 1인 가구, 주택유형, 주택 노후도 등이 주택 안전사고 발생에 통계적으로 유효한 요인으로 분석되었다.
