Abstract

In the paper, the significance for the driver of the various visual functions is discussed, as well as changes in these functions with increasing age. Published data on the relation between accidents, age and visual performance are summarized. Finally, on the basis of this information, recommendations and answers to the following questions are given: at what age should a retesting take place? Which visual functions should be included in a retest? Who should carry out such a test? Which test procedures should be chosen? (TRRL)
