Abstract

Reduction of unevenness of occupant injury index in frontal collision is important in vehicle development. The author analyzed the unevenness in chest deceleration on the passenger side by using a FE model.

RESULTS show that there is a wide unevenness in internal force of lumbar spine. It was found that modification of the seat structure layout reduces the unevenness in chest G by 40%.
