Abstract

Although warning systems are widely introduced to improve traffic safety, they should not confuse driver's judgment due to inappropriate presentation. This paper analyzes false alarm problem of the warning system based on the data obtained in driving simulator experiment. We supposed nuisance warning that comes from the inconsistency between driver's subjective judgment and warning threshold of the system. Allowable false alarm level of the system is considered.
