Abstract

Analysis using transfer functions and the characteristic equation quickly gives us solutions of vehicle transient response problems. However, it usually does not tell us the physical background and the underlying mechanism. To address this shortcoming, complex plane vector representation is a useful approach. Application of it to the vehicle model transfer function requires a small contrivance in representation of the denominator as explained in this paper. With this help, it is possible to clearly show the total view and mutual relationship between various frequency responses.
