Abstract

Sense of self-agency (perceived control) has been proposed in psychology field and means "I am the initiator or source of the action". In this study, psychological experiments using a simple driving simulator were conducted focusing on how operator's sense of self-agency changes corresponding to a degree of assistance against a disturbed operation environment. The result showed that sense of self-agency was maintained when the degree was moderate, whereas the sense was decreased when the degree of assistance was high. It suggested that an automated system can be categorized based on the degree of assistance.
