Abstract

For maintaining and improving the drivers' condition in a highly automated driving support system, we are examining a new interface to promote their voluntary behavior for keeping own arousal state. The interface is composed of a neck pad attached to the driver's seat, and the neck pad has a cooling system. We report the evaluation of the effects for keeping their arousal state at 2 temperature conditions of the neck pad's surface with 10 subjects in laboratory experiments.
