Abstract

This paper presents a literature review of epidemiological data relevant to traffic accidents of children, including their personality and behavioral predisposition, social factors, association with risk taking behavior, rehabilitation, and incidence of post traumatic stress syndrome. The need for prospective studies of psychiatric sequelae of such accidents is highlighted. Three case vignettes are presented.
