Abstract

With ageing of existing bridge, its condition becomes worse and worse. How to forecast its remaining service life on bearing capacity is an important task to be researched as soon as possible. In this paper, the service life assessment criterion of existing bridge is put forward firstly. Then, the remaining service life analysis method of existing bridge is studied based on equivalent reliability index, which considers the unity in time zone of forecast reliability index and service life assessment criterion. Next, the principle about how to decide existing bridge's remaining service life from its main members' remaining service life is presented. And the time-varying probability models of member's resistance and load action effect are offered. Lastly, this forecast method is applied in an existing bridge successfully.
