Abstract

Authors put forward the active suspension system (ASS) to replace the passive suspension system with poor side tumbling stability, and through the roll motion analysis, establish the model of passive suspension system, ASS and the control system. Through the simulation and analysis, the effective roll angle of vehicle with ASS decrease by 92.8% in curve driving at high speeds, and the effective roll angle acceleration and side tumbling factor decrease by 78.2% and 92.6% respectively. The results show that the ASS can effectively reduce the roll angle and roll angle acceleration in non-linear driving and improve the side tumbling stability. ASS is a reasonable solution to improve vehicle safety in non-linear driving.
