Abstract

The need for highly complex aircrafts and fire fighting apparatus as well as increased effectiveness of the crews who operate these aircrafts were discussed. It was suggested that capabilities and effectiveness must advance if airports are to surmount the increasingly complex problems involved in the handling of high speed air traffic. The different proposals that were made for these rescue missions include having equipment on standby, to place satellite installations along the length of the runway and permanent installation of the equipments along the sides of the runway. The basic equipment must therefore include a two-way radio, pre-planned rescue dispatch signals, and public address equipment for local communication at the site.
