DESIGN AND METHODS: The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 450 male participants. The data were collected using a descriptive questionnaire, Gender Motivation Scale and Violence Tendency Scale.

FINDINGS: It was found that there was a negative and moderate correlation between feminine norms with intrinsic motivation and violence tendency scores (p < 0.05). A positive and moderate correlation was found between masculine norms with extrinsic motivation and violence tendency scores (p < 0.05).
