Abstract

A MADYMO-3D DOT-SID model is developed in several phases. The model's major components are validated. In particular, a parametric study is carried out to assess the model's capability as an injury prediction system. The results of the study show that the model can capture the essence of the side impact phenomena. This suggests that the model is viable as a vehicle development aid.
