Abstract

Violence against women is the most common crime with the lowest punishment in the world. In this descriptive-analytical study, four centers were selected by the cluster random sampling method; in each center, 111 women were selected by non-probability convenience sampling method and evaluated by violence history caused by their husbands. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 16 software at 95% confidence interval. The frequency of physical violence was 24.2%. A statistically significant relationship existed between this type of violence and various factors (pā€‰<ā€‰0.05). This type of violence is common, and its perpetration is a multifactorial phenomenon.
