Abstract

The fire accident at the Vansfield oil depot in the United Kingdom in December 2005 was said to be the largest fire in Europe after World War II. A detailed cause investigation was conducted over three years, led by the Accident Investigation Committee established after the accident. On the other hand, in recent years, serious accidents at petroleum complexes have occurred one after another in Japan, but there are similarities and commonalities in these background factors. We will compare the basic concepts of accident prevention pointed out in both countries. [Google Translate]
