Abstract

In traffic fatal accidents, the ratio of elderly pedestrians becoming victims is increasing year by year. In particular, many elderly pedestrians are crossing, and it is essential for drivers to protect pedestrians in order to prevent accidents. Not only that, but also elderly pedestrians are required to cross after sufficient safety confirmation. On the other hand, through the analysis of fatal accidents, the risk of crossing behavior of elderly pedestrians can be grasped to a certain extent. The content first shows the risks leading to fatal accidents of elderly pedestrians, and then shows a model that quantifies those risks for each crossing behavior of the elderly. In the countermeasures, after stating the necessity of safety education for both elderly pedestrians and drivers, we summarize the risks of elderly pedestrians and the method of education using a model that quantifies them. In addition, we will explain the importance of working together as a part of social activities, not by the police and companies alone, but by the citizens as a whole. [Google Translate]
