Abstract

This meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of available treatments for self-injury in adolescents. We chose eight between group studies (N=446) that met our inclusion criteria.

RESULTS revealed small to large Hedge's g effect sizes for self-injury. Moderator analyses identified age, number of sessions, and depression effect size as factors that accounted for differences in treatment effect. Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.
