Abstract

This article evaluates the accuracy of the crash data collected from a rollover crash site. This evidence includes tire marks, tire furrow in and off-road surfaces, gouges and scrapres, wheel landing marks on road or dirt, vehicle-to ground impact marks on and off road, vehicle window glass chards and other vehicle debris. This evidence will enable the crash reconstructionist to determine the location, speed, and timing of the loss of control, the trip and the rollover. Locating evidence from the crash depends on the form of documentation, photographs or measurements, before the evidence disappears. The article discusses the factors that relate to the longevity of evidence at a crash scene.
